I have been to college and I acquired a big loan to do so. I graduated in 2001, I now want to take small classes at the community college. Will this defer my student loans? Or do I have to get MORE student loans to defer my original loan payments?

I happen to know this because I do this for a living. You need to find out who your Local workforce investment board is. (Look on line for yours.) There is a grant called the Workforce Investment Grant or Workforce Investment Act. This is money for someone who wants to go into a labor market and demand employment. This is a grant so you don’t have to pay it back.

I know Sallie Mae has a loan program for continuing education students. My guess would be other lenders would have these as well. Maybe a search for educational loans would offer some additional options? Make sure you check out all the loan terms and find out which one will offer the best terms (interest rate, fees, repayment terms).
